Careers
A small team handling physical commodity trade end to end. Responsibility arrives early because there is nowhere for it to go instead.
What the work is
Chemical trading is four disciplines at once: the chemistry, the contract, the freight and the finance. People who are good at it can hold all four in view on the same transaction, and the only way to learn that is to do it on real orders.
The company is small and the structure is flat, which is a genuine advantage early in a career and an honest disadvantage if you want a large support function behind you.
Roles we recruit for
- Sales and business development, focused on one manufacturing segment
- Trading — sourcing, pricing and position management
- Procurement and supplier qualification
- Technical sales support — specification and formulation questions
- Logistics and operations — booking, documentation, dangerous goods
- Trade finance and documentation — letters of credit and documentary sets
- Compliance — counterparty screening and export controls
- Internships for chemistry, chemical engineering, supply chain and international business students
What we look for
A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, supply chain, economics or international business is a reasonable starting point, but the trade rewards temperament more than a diploma: precision with numbers and documents, composure in negotiation, and the discipline to follow a compliance procedure when nobody is watching.
Working English is required. Mandarin is a significant advantage for the producer side of the business.
