What we do
Modern Way is an international trading and distribution house for chemical raw materials. We buy from producers, carry the commercial risk between purchase and delivery, and supply manufacturers in the lot sizes, packaging and documentation their production actually needs.
Coatings, paints and printing inks are our largest segment. A coating formulation needs a binder, a pigment and filler system, a solvent balance and an additive package, and a buyer should be able to source all four from one enquiry rather than from four suppliers on four lead times.
Around that sits everything the physical trade requires: producer qualification, purchase and working capital, shipment coordination, customs and trade documentation, and the quality documents that travel with every lot.
Segments
Coatings, paints and inks
Binders, pigments, fillers, solvents and additives for architectural, industrial, protective, wood, coil and automotive coatings, and for solvent- and water-based printing inks.
Home care and detergents
Surfactants, builders, chelating agents, bleaching systems and performance additives for laundry, dishwashing, hard-surface cleaning and institutional products.
Agrochemicals
Formulation inputs, solvents, adjuvants and plant nutrition raw materials for crop protection formulators, supplied with the analytical documentation their registrations require.
Pharmaceutical raw materials
Excipients, process solvents and intermediates for pharmaceutical, veterinary and nutraceutical manufacturing, supplied to the monograph specification agreed in the contract.
Oilfield chemicals
Drilling fluid additives, production chemicals, stimulation chemistries and base chemicals for upstream operations and for the service companies that supply them.
Personal care and cosmetics
Emollients, surfactant bases, emulsifiers, humectants, actives and functional additives for skin care, hair care, colour cosmetics, oral care and personal hygiene manufacturing.
How an order runs
Specification
You send the product or CAS number, the grade, the quantity, the packaging and the destination. If something is missing that changes the price, we ask before quoting.
Offer
A written offer stating grade, origin, packaging, the Incoterms® 2020 rule with its named place, lead time and validity.
Contract
Terms fixed in writing, including the specification the material will be measured against and the documents that will accompany it.
Production and inspection
Material produced or allocated against the specification. Independent pre-shipment inspection can be arranged at your request.
Shipment
Packing, labelling and declaration appropriate to the goods, with the document set prepared before departure rather than chased afterwards.
Delivery
Arrival at the agreed place under the agreed rule, with the certificate of analysis for the delivered lot.
